Franchisee Daily + Ongoing Responsibilities

 

Business Operations & Brand Representation

  • Market store at the local level to build awareness and attract foot traffic.
  • Post regularly on social media in alignment with brand standards using approved scheduling platform.
  • Engage with followers and respond to messages, comments, and reviews.
  • Boost key posts and implement paid strategies as advised by the franchisor.
  • Submit social media content for pre-approval during the first 30–90 days to ensure alignment.
  • Provide exemplary customer service, ensuring guests enjoy creative, fun and informative experiences and opportunities to connect with friends and family.Team Management & Culture
  • Hire, train, and manage team members, ensuring alignment with Sea Love’s values, scent-blending standards, and operational systems.
  • Implement and train staff on all company systems (POS, marketing, scent styling, merchandising, etc.).
  • Provide feedback to the franchisor to help improve systems and resources.
  • Maintain a growth mindset and willingness to be accountable for team development, customer service, and overall experience.Financial Reporting & Fees
  • Submit monthly Profit & Loss (P&L), Key Performance Indicator (KPI), and Marketing Reports.
  • Contribute: 6% monthly Royalty Fee 2% monthly Brand Fund contribution
  • Invest 2–5% in local marketing strategies (minimum recommended)
  • Review monthly KPI reports to track marketing effectiveness and business performance.Inventory & Merchandising
  • Maintain a full supply of materials required for the scent-blending experience.
  • Purchase a right-sized mix of approved retail products from the Sea Love Boutique Catalog.
  • Ensure the boutique reflects the brand’s merchandising standards.
  • Submit requests for any new vendors or product additions to be reviewed and approved by Sea Love before introducing them in-store.Training & Engagement
  • Attend all required team meetings, individual coaching sessions, and learning opportunities hosted by Sea Love.
  • Ensure that all staff members achieve their Scent Stylist Certifications.
  • Actively participate in Sea Love’s annual conference.
  • Remain open to learning, feedback, and collaboration.
  • Share business insights, incentives and brand news with team members (as appropriate) 

     

    Semi-Absentee Franchisee Responsibilities

     

  • For those considering a semi-absentee ownership model, the expectation is to **hire a capable, customer-focused manager** who can carry out the day-to-day operations while the franchisee oversees the business at a higher level.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Hiring and retaining a well-trained team, including a reliable store manager.
    • Monitoring performance through weekly check-ins, reviewing P&Ls, and tracking KPIs.
    • Ensuring ongoing local marketing efforts and community engagement.
    • Reviewing and approving content and paid strategies prepared by the team.
    • Participating in monthly reporting, brand fund contributions, and royalty payments.
    • Staying engaged through conference attendance and ongoing communications with the Sea Love support team.
